Premise offers a wide range of dynamic, purpose-driven career opportunities. We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable Analyst to join our team in Brentwood, TN. This position is hybrid coming into the office every 5-6 weeks.
About the role:
The primary goals of the Accounts Payable Analyst are to maintain the integrity of payable transactions and cash disbursements by ensuring vendors are properly setup, expenses are recorded, processed, and paid promptly and accurately. The accounts payable analyst role fulfills both the clerical and analytical functions required to meet the primary department goals. This includes analyzing the organizations vendor invoices and expenses, and making certain the appropriate documentation and approvals are complete. The position will work cross functionally with vendors, IT, and Project Accounting to ensure expenses are being allocated to the correct locations and lines of business for proper billing and expense recognition. The Accounts Payable Analyst requires excellent attention to detail, organizational skill, strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities. The Accounts Payable Analyst must be proficient with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Custom Sort functions, Pivot Tables) to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data and have a thorough understanding of the entire accounts payable process.
Essential Functions:
• Utilizes Excel to manipulate large amounts of data for integration into our accounting system
• Verifies expenses are charged to the correct locations and lines of business for accurate billing and reporting
• Reconciles vendor accounts monthly, ensuring all invoices were processed correctly and credit balances are resolved.
• Researches returned AP checks to determine correct resolution, following up with vendors and internal departments as needed
• Receives and verifies expense reports and invoices from employees and vendors are accurate, complete, and have appropriate approval.
• Enters and uploads invoices into accounting software
• Researches and resolves payment or invoice discrepancies and documentation.
• Responds timely and professionally to processing inquiries
• Communicates with employees and vendors regarding payment status, invoice requests, and inquiries as needed.
Job Requirements:
• High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3+ years combined experience in processing accounts payable invoices, with emphasis on electronic integrations preferred
• Microsoft Dynamics GP experience preferred
• Preferred experience in a healthcare environment
Preferred Experience :
• Proficient in Outlook and Word, with intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables)
• High level of critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Excellent organization, analytical, and quantitative skills
• Demonstrates attention to detail and the ability to solve problems in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Ability and willingness to learn new software quickly
• Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
