About the role: We are seeking a skilled Bot Developer with expertise in Mesh and Databricks Architecture to join our dynamic data engineering team. In this role, you will design and develop intelligent bots that automate tasks, integrate data workflows, and enhance the overall data infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Essential Functions:  

• Design, build, and deploy bots for data automation tasks across healthcare data workflows, including data integration, ETL processes, data quality checks, and reporting.  
• Develop bots to streamline interactions with various healthcare data sources, including Electronic Health Records (EHR), patient management systems, and IoT devices.  
• Implement AI-driven automation capabilities for optimizing data-driven decision-making processes.  
• Work with the Mesh Architecture to create highly modular, scalable, and centralized data workflows that support seamless bot operations.  
• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Premise’s proprietary, custom-built platform.  
• Adapt to and leverage the features and capabilities of our homegrown platform to deliver high-quality applications and solutions.  
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure optimal use of the platform’s functionalities and align with its architectural principles.  
• Leverage Databricks to process large-scale data, utilizing distributed computing for real-time data processing and analytics.  
• Design and implement robust data pipelines, ensuring high efficiency and low latency for data-intensive applications.  
• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions that adhere to Premise’s established development standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.  
• Ensure that all bot development and data automation processes comply with industry standards, such as HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.  
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data pipelines and automation workflows to enhance overall system efficiency and reduce manual interventions.  
• Conduct thorough testing of bots to ensure they function correctly and continuously improve their performance, accuracy, and usability based on feedback and analytics.  
• Develop monitoring tools to track bot performance, gathering insights to ensure that bots are operating efficiently and correctly. 
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for bot architecture, API integrations, and processes.  
• Collaborate with the development team to design, implement, and maintain bot solutions following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices.  
• Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end testing to ensure the functionality, reliability, and scalability of bot applications.  
• Participate in peer code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and alignment with company coding standards.  
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, data scientists, product managers, and customer support teams to align bot features with business goals and customer needs.  
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in AI, NLP, and bot development.  

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.  
• 3+ years of relevant work experience  
• Proven experience in bot development, automation, or RPA (Robotic Process Automation), especially within a data engineering or data science context.  
• Expertise in Databricks, Apache Spark, and other big data technologies for large-scale data processing.  
• Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration tools.  
• Familiarity with cloud-based bot deployment (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).  
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, and data structures used in bot interactions preferred.  
• Experience in adopting and applying company-specific coding conventions or industry best practices within a collaborative team environment.  
• Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies, including unit testing, regression testing, and performance testing.  
• Experience handling JSON data in bot frameworks and message payloads.  
• Experience in creating or refining documentation related to testing plans and peer review guidelines.  

Preferred Experience:

• Strong understanding of Mesh Architecture and its application in distributed systems.  
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code in accordance with predefined coding standards and architectural guidelines.  
• Ability to provide constructive feedback during peer code reviews and incorporate feedback from others to improve code quality.  
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.  
• Knowledge of containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus.  
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and ability to integrate bots with third-party services, databases, and external platforms.  
• Understanding of machine learning and AI algorithms, especially those used in AI.  
• Familiarity with standardization processes, version control systems, and collaborative tools (e.g., Git, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines).  
• Prior experience reviewing and understanding coding standards documentation, including code style, testing requirements, and security policies.  
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to debug, optimize, and enhance bot functionality.  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members. 
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban preferred.

For individuals living in California, Colorado, Washington; as well as, for individuals living in or reporting to New York State only, Premise Health is required to  include an estimate of the salary and benefits for this role. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California, Colorado, Washington, and New York compensation is $80,000 - $100,000.
