About the role: The role of the Clinical Data Analyst is to support the strategy and execution of data analytics for the Medical Operations team in areas such as patient safety, clinical quality, documentation proficiency, and clinical operations reporting. This role is essential in analyzing clinical data to enhance patient safety and optimize patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will manage, analyze, and interpret clinical and operational data gathered from various sources to provide actionable clinical insights that inform decision-making across the organization. 


Essential Functions:  

  • Enhance the delivery of care by conducting comprehensive analyses of clinical and operational data to develop insights that identify trends, ultimately driving improvements in patient safety and care quality  
  • Serve as an internal consultant and subject matter expert for the medical operations team, providing guidance on analytics initiatives and enhancements to optimize performance and efficiency 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within clinical operations through data-driven insights, contributing to enhanced safety, efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Develop and deliver detailed reports and dashboards on clinical evaluations and operational metrics, ensuring that findings are presented clearly and effectively to key stakeholders 
  • Serve as the clinical informatics liaison to the Business Intelligence (BI) Team for matters related to analytics and reporting 
  • Facilitate data requests, analyzing data and developing reports that will help monitor and track project progress and outcomes 
  • Understand and derive insights from clinical data sets (clinical and operational) for strategic and business planning purposes 
  • Perform deep dives into available data to drive strategies for influencing providers, clinicians, clinical operations leaders, and clients 
  • Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions 
  • Conduct data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure the integrity of clinical data 
  • Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies 
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest process and business intelligence advancements to automate and modernize systems 
  • Document cross-team processes 
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings. 
  • Perform requirements analysis 
  • Support initiatives for data integrity and normalization. 
  • Troubleshoot the reporting database environment and associated reports 
  • Create reports and visualization dashboards. 
  •  May require other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required  
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) preferred  
  • a Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred  
  • Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM) is preferred 
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred 
  • 3+ years of experience in Data analysis or a related field 
  • At least 2 years of experience in developing SQL/Slicer Dicer reports and dashboards within Epic  
  • Experience supporting initiatives for data integrity and normalization 
  • Experience creating detailed reports and delivering presentations. 
  • Proven experience in clinical data analysis with a strong understanding of healthcare operations


Preferred Experience:

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information succinctly to diverse audiences  
  • Advanced technical skills; proficient in SQL, Qlik and Epic 
  • Excellent documentation skills 
  • Experience providing technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing. 
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills. 
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and data visualization software 
  • Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • A track record of following through on commitments. 
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.

For individuals living in California, Colorado, Washington; as well as, for individuals living in or reporting to New York State only, Premise Health is required to include an estimate of the salary and benefits for this role. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California, Colorado, Washington, and New York compensation is $75,000 - $120,000. Please note, this is a general guideline and your experience qualifications, geographic location, and other factors will be taken into consideration.
