Premise offers a wide range of dynamic, purpose-driven career opportunities. We are currently looking for a Communications Specialist to join our team in Brentwood, TN. This is a hybrid position reporting in office on Tuesday and Wednesday.

About the role:

Our marketing and communications department is seeking a driven and results-oriented Communications Specialist who brings strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver value to the organization. The ideal candidate will be passionate about communication and tailoring content to reach key audiences with the right message, at the right time, and through the right channel. The communications specialist is skilled at using a variety of tools and mediums to shape narratives that ultimately drive engagement and action.

 

Under the guidance of the director of communications, the role will support thoughtful communications strategies and develop clear, concise, and compelling content that connects our dispersed workforce to our culture, one another, and our mission of helping people get, stay, and be well. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, eager to learn, and is a resourceful self-starter.

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Writes creative copy – long- and short-form – for use in a variety of channels and applicable to a range of audiences, including e-mails, internal newsletters, blog posts, video scripts, and more 
  • Utilizes high-quality written communication skill to help develop thoughtful, strategic messaging and content that reaches team members in a dispersed workforce
  • Own internal Premise newsletters, targeted to various audiences across the organization, from topic development to distribution 
  • Proven ability and working experience to write copy and edit for accuracy and style. Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence construction
  • Develops copy for multiple audiences, including executive leadership and senior leadership across departments
  • Works closely with leaders across the organization to gather, review, and edit content for distribution
  • Develops and maintains editorial strategies and content plans 
  • Researches and identifies topics, trends, and themes that align with the overarching Premise message 
  • Tailors content to the needs and interests of various audiences both internally and externally
  • Juggles multiple projects at any given time, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work under pressure
  • Manages workload in a fast-paced environment with ability to pivot quickly
  • May require other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • 3+ years of communications/content development experience


Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Self-starter, detail-orientated, and organized; demonstrates initiative and thrives in a fast paced, collaborative work environment
  • Ability to project manage work with tight deadlines under pressure
  • Strong writing and editing skills with ability to translate complex subject matter into clear, concise, and compelling content
  • Possess a knack for proofreading and attention to detail 
  • Team player and quick learner
  • You can provide and accept feedback and reprioritize workload when needed
  • Multi-tasking problem solver with attention to detail, tone, and context
  • Knowledge of different communication channels and distribution best practices
  • Offering thought leadership and perspective; helping team members match the most appropriate content strategies to strategic objectives
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or video and photo production and editing a bonus, but not required
