We are looking for a Director of Analytics Engineering to join our team. This role is focused on oversight and support for client facing, internal, and external reporting and analytics engineering efforts leveraging Epic EMR data. A deep understanding of Epic data, data modeling, analytics engineering development methodologies, data visualization tools, and end-user experience best practices are required. This role reports to the AVP of Analytics Engineering.
We are passionate about data integrity, process standardization, simplification, and delivering high quality reporting and analytics. Our goal is to effectively design, develop in, and support core reporting leveraging Epic data for our clients and operational stakeholders.
This is a full time, hybrid Director of Analytics Engineering role located in Brentwood, TN.
What You'll Do
• Execute on the enterprise analytics engineering strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
• Oversee and optimize Epic related analytics engineering efforts.
• Manage Epic related analytics engineering development and support requests.
• Manage a team of analytics engineering focused business intelligence developers
• Coordinate team efforts working in an agile model across multiple domains in partnership with data practitioners from across the Data and Insights Office.
• Support and advise on analytics engineering standards, best practices, and development methodologies.
• Work collaboratively with Epic build and data teams to effectively leverage Epic data.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to organizational stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Lead team through project management activities, manage workloads, and facilitate team meetings.
• Oversee professional development of direct reports ensuring the team is operating on the cutting edge of analytics engineering.
What You'll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum ten years’ experience in the healthcare field and/or relevant field to the role.
• Minimum of five years in a leadership role managing a technical team.
• Five or more years supporting data analysis and visualization in a production environment.
• Extensive experience with Epic EMR data structures, including Clarity and Caboodle.
• Extensive SQL and data modeling experience.
• Experience collaborating on projects across organizational departments and with external parties/organizations.
• Experience managing a team with limited supervision.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining production code promotion processes in a team setting.
• Experience diagnosing, isolating, and implementing strategies to resolve data quality issues in a team setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Epic Cogito and Clarity data model certifications.
• Experience using Databricks, dbt, and data visualization tools including Qlik Sense, Qlik NPrinting, Omni, Power BI.
• Experience using Jira, ServiceNow, or similar workflow management applications.
• Experience using GitLab.
