Premise offers a wide range of dynamic, purpose-driven career opportunities. We are currently looking for a Licensing Specialist to join our team in Brentwood, TN.

About the role: This position is based in the Legal/Compliance Department, will report directly to the Licensing Director, and assist in day-to-day duties in addition to special projects, etc. Under general supervision, this position will be responsible for matters affecting the renewal of facility/site licensing (local, state and federal), necessary in order to ensure operational compliance. This position may also serve as a liaison within the organization and with external organizations, including other governmental and regulatory agencies. Coordinates and prepares reports and other documents relating to Legal/Compliance functions.

Essential Functions:  

  • Monitor external agency licensing requirements for assigned region to ensure alignment with local, state and federal agencies. 
  • Review and adhere to jurisdiction regulations relating to the renewal of licenses in order to make a full and accurate application that is likely to be successful. 
  • Completion and timely submission of renewals of CLIA, business licenses and other licenses required for the operation of the business.
  • Responsible for managing large volume of license renewals for an assigned territory (multiple states) with moderate supervision.
  • Contact licensing agencies, internal and external personnel to complete license renewals, changes to licensing and new applications.
  • Track status of license renewals through completion and update internal records. 
  • Internal liaison responsible for managing large volume of site requests for assigned regions.
  • Serve as Administrator to licensing database platform ensuring updates are made and renewed licenses are uploaded in real time.
  • Assist with special projects as directed.

 

Job Requirements: 

  • 4 year degree or Paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a legal or compliance role. 

 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Knowledgeable in corporate and healthcare law and/or licensing and possess the ability to research various licensing laws and regulations.
  • Must be a self-starter and detail oriented.
  • Develop automated auditing tools, databases, and tracking tools.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with demonstrable ability to write clearly.
  • Excellent time management skills, extremely self-directed.
  • Must be able work in fast-paced environment and manage many complex, detailed tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable ability to work with diverse functional areas within the organization.
  • Initiate and follow-through on projects with little supervision or guidance.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, other programs and agencies.
  • Excellent writing, editing and computer skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
