As a Seasonal Registered Nurse, you will provide support and advocacy services for a unique population of professional athletes during a premier summer sporting season in Saratoga Springs, New York.
This seasonal, on-call role does not require routine onsite clinic coverage. Instead, you will be available to respond as needed and report to either Saratoga Hospital or Albany Medical Center on event days. Coverage is required Thursday through Sunday in July and Wednesday through Sunday in August.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN who enjoys working independently, coordinating care, and serving as a trusted advocate for patients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is flexible, responsive, and passionate about supporting the health and well-being of athletes throughout the season.
What You’ll Do
- Assesses patient care needs, conducts nursing evaluations, and provides treatment within scope of practice
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare practitioners for further medical evaluation and care as needed
- Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
- Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
- Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
- Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
- Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
- Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
- Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
- At least three years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency room, occupational health clinic or other ambulatory care clinic

Premise Health provides its reasonable and genuinely expected compensation for this position as $32.00–$40.00 per hour for PRN work. In addition, this seasonal on-call role pays $80 per day for each day the nurse is on call and $150 per hour for any time worked when called in to provide services. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
