Premise offers a wide range of dynamic, purpose-driven career opportunities. We are proud to partner with The New York Racing Association (NYRA) and are currently hiring PRN Paramedics to join our team in Aqueduct and Belmont, NY.
About the role:
- This is a permanent PRN position. You will work as needed and as available.
- Work location is at the NYRA racetracks. Hours will vary during race season.
- This is not your typical EMS space, we have a great team and we have a lot of fun!
- There is an ambulance on-site available for emergency situations. Must have NYC REMAC and Nassau County REMSCO certifications upon hire.
Essential Functions:
- Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance.
- Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and takes and records patient's vital signs.
- Initiates intravenous fluids to administer medication or drug cardiac monitoring.
- Administers injections of medications and drugs
- Communicates with physician and other medical personnel in person and by radio-telephone.
- Keeps current on treatment techniques, protocol changes, material, and equipment.
- Prepares required reports and maintains records of activities.
- Cleans assigned emergency vehicle.
- Conducts safety inspections, requisitions and restocks supplies, material, and equipment.
- May require other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from an accredited Paramedic training program,
- Current Paramedic Certification as defined within the state in which work will be performed.
- Current ACLS certification
- NY Paramedics – based on city and county: Regional Emergency Medical Service Council (REMSCO), Regional Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (REMAC), Regional Emergency Medical Organization (REMO) Certifications (NYRA Aqueduct & Belmont must have NYC REMAC and Nassau County REMSCO –have 30 days to obtain REMSCO
- Experience in the corporate fitness setting preferred
- At least three years’ experience as an EMT-P with an ambulance/EMS service
Preferred Experience:
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification.
- React well under pressure.
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software

For individuals living in New York City only, Premise Health is required to include an estimate of the salary and benefits for this role. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated New York City compensation is $21.60-$27.00 per hour. Please note, this is a general guideline and your experience qualifications, geographic location, and other factors will be taken into consideration.
