Premise Health is proud to partner with Cummins Wellness Center and are currently looking for a full-time Teaching Kitchen Manager to join our team in Columbus, IN!


Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday
  • Requires flexibility between 7:00 am - 7:00 pm


About this Role:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Teaching Kitchen Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nutrition or nursing fields combined with culinary arts experience. This role requires the ability to educate and inspire others through engaging classes and coaching sessions. The Teaching Kitchen Manager will work with all levels of Cummins employees to promote healthy eating habits and home cooking skills.

 

Job Duties: 

  • Provide one-on-one culinary coaching appointments to help members achieve their health and wellness goals through personalized plans with emphasis on cooking and culinary skill building.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new group classes and meal prep sessions. Emphasis should be on Balanced Plate Model and tailored to appointment duration.
  • Develop educational materials, such as handouts and recipes, to support clients in their health journey.
  • Deliver informative and engaging presentations on various topics related to habit change, nutrition, healthy eating, and culinary skills. This should include a variety of formats, with a focus on hands on education, practical culinary skills, and kitchen safety.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Members, providing ongoing support tailored to the individual needs of socioeconomic groups and cultures.
  • Participate in a comprehensive onboarding process, including job shadowing.
  • Complete a six-month apprenticeship under Chef Sandy, including case study evaluations and group class reviews.
  • Participate in Manager Team Meetings and Corporate Initiatives.

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • Complete ServSafe training and certification within 120 days of hire (if not currently certified)
  • National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (preferred)

 

Experience

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in culinary instruction, nutrition coaching, or a related field.

 

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Strong knowledge of Lifestyle Medicine is a plus
  • Strong culinary skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Web/Internet based programs.
  • Ability to shift priorities between management, creative development, and cooking-tasks, in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Must be capable of demonstrating physical demands typical of commercial restaurant-kitchen and food manufacturing. (i.e. standing for long periods of time; lifting up to and including 40lbs; etc.)
  • Ability to build relationships and work across multiple departments, groups, teams, and individual members.
